Message from the Secretariat
2018 promises to become a year when both climate and clean air objectives will be high on the global agenda. We and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition partners will help to keep that so! We will work hard to achieve fast action, quick results and multiple benefits though our many initiatives and collaborations.
Some of our priorities include:
- On air quality: We will work with UN Environment Programme and partners to implement the new resolution on ‘Preventing and reducing air pollution to improve air quality globally’
- On climate action: We will continue to support implementation of the Paris Agreement through the Global Climate Action Agenda and in support of the Climate Change Convention ‘Talanoa Dialogue’, to take stock of progress and inform action.
‘Pathway Approach’: We will make the case for an approach to reduce warming that shows the quantified multiple-benefits of all climate and air quality actions over time to mobilize urgent ambition to keep the world on a path to meet the sustainable development goals and maintain warming well below 2°C. Several countries are now testing implementation of tools and methodologies to support this work.
The Coalition Secretariat will keep you posted on our progress along the way, so stay tuned – and remember to #BreatheLife!
