United Nations Conference Centre

Air pollution is a major threat to human health and well-being in the Asia Pacific region, which accounts for the bulk of air pollution related deaths globally and has some of the most polluted cities in the world. Besides its health impacts, air pollution is also a threat to the region’s economy, in terms of the lost labour income and welfare losses, food water security, and climate system, thereby undermining poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

Clean Air Week is a week-long event that brings together governments leaders, experts, private sector and civil society organizations in a series of events focused on solutions for better air quality in the Asia Pacific region.

Events organized in the week include:

  • 18-20 March: Low Carbon Lifestyle Challenge
  • 19-20 March: Air pollution health impact assessment workshop
  • 20 March: Cleaner Fuels and Vehicles in Asia and the Fuel Economy Dialogue
  • 21-22 March: 2018 Asia Pacific Clean Air Partnership Joint Forum
  • 23 March: Science and Policy Dialogue on Acid Deposition in East Asia
  • 23 March: Evidence Based Policy Making for Clean Air
