A third of the world's entire food supply could be saved by reducing waste – that’s enough to feed 3 billion people! It is inescapable that achieving sustainability will require better food waste management.
The world has already set ambitious goals to make this a reality: the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals, states that the globe should halve per capita food waste at the retail and consumer levels. (SDG 12.3)
Granted, a 50% reduction in food waste is no easy feat. The good news is that it isn’t impossible either.
What is happening to fight food waste globally? Join us for a webinar that explores the journeys of four countries who are actively working to combat food waste.
Brazil, Colombia, the Netherlands and the United States of America will share their food waste implementation mechanisms, success factors and main challenges.
The webinar will also feature a presentation on the Sustainable Food Systems Programme’s core initiative aimed at providing technical and policy support to countries in their fight against food loss and waste.
Presentations will be followed by a Q&A exchange.
