2022 has been a milestone for the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), marking ten years since its founding by six countries - the United States, Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico and Sweden - and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to drive fast action on short-lived climate pollutants.
Over the last ten years the CCAC has improved the science behind short-lived climate pollutans, shared lessons learned, and carried out activities in different sectors to test and prove the feasibility of available solutions. Many CCAC country partners have developed national action plans and policies that integrate climate, air quality and development goals. The number of countries acknowledging the importance of ambitious action on SLCPs in their NDCs has more than doubled.
To mark its 10-year anniversary, the CCAC is hosting events in March and April. More information can be found below.
