The Marrakech Communique was adopted at the 8th CCAC High Level Assembly that took place on the margins of COP 22 in Morocco on 14 November 2016.

In the Communique the Coalition commits to implementing measures now that reduce short-lived climate pollutants, and call on all countries to take effective action in order to: slow the increasing rate of climate change that has seen 2015 and 2016 as the warmest years on record.

Coalition Partners also committed to action to:

  1. Reduce black carbon emissions through cleaner diesel fuels and vehicles
  2. Develop black carbon inventories and projections, and to
  3. Reduce methane emissions from oil and gas operations.
