The Working Group of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition met in Paris on 16 and 17 July to discuss accomplishments to date and the latest science on short-lived climate pollutants, as well as to set directions on future activities.
The Coalition will launch several major actions at the UN Climate Summit in September in the areas of municipal solid waste, HFCs, oil and gas production, agriculture and green freight. The Coalition also announced a new health initiative and welcomed two new members— The International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement (INECE) and World Meteorological Organization. The group declared for the first time its openness to private sector partners.
The meeting was preceded by an all-day working session on 15 July to further the work and cross-fertilization of Coalition initiatives.
The Coalition announced its next High-Level Assembly on 22 September at the UN Summit.
