The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH are jointly conducting a dialogue series – “Climate Dialogue Series 2022 – India”, under the Indo-German bilateral cooperation project on “Supporting the Institutionalization of Capacities on Climate Change Studies and Actions (ICCC)”.
This series aims to enable the exchange of knowledge, further climate research, and fuel science-based recommendation in initiatives taken to combat climate change. The programme has been curated to sensitize the audience comprising officials from different ministries of the Government of India, academia, civil societies, philanthropic institutions and think tanks on the topic.
The first webinar of ‘Climate Dialogue Series 2022 – India’ will take on on April 12, 2022, from 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM IST. The theme selected for the same is “Science and Climate Change”, covering the topic “Mainstreaming Climate Science in Global and Local Discourse”.
The Speakers for this session are Prof. Dr Krishna AchutaRao from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (India); Dr Pema Gyamtsho from The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (Nepal); and Dr Nathan Borgford-Parnell from the Climate & Clean Air Coalition, The United Nations Environmental Programme (France/Switzerland) with Dr Dhanasree Jayaram from the Manipal Academy of Higher Studies, MAHE (India), moderating the session.
