The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves has the goal of supporting 100 million households to adopt clean and efficient cookstoves and fuels by 2020. If increased to 250 million, this ambition would result in CO2 emissions reduction of 0.5 GigaTon per year. In this side event, we aim to complement the discussions at COP21 by highlighting the positive climate potential of clean cooking through a panel discussion.
How can we make sure that clean cookstoves are being acknowledged internationally as a necessary and important approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
