14 July, 2020
8:00 EDT / 14:00 CEST
Online event

This side event will explore various key linkages between COVID-19 and efficient cooling relating to health, economic recovery, job creation, and food security.

Experts will discuss various relevant topics, including how the cold chain is necessary to improving health resilience, reducing critical respiratory vulnerabilities, and protecting medical supply and delivery. They will further discuss how ending environmentally harmful dumping of inefficient appliances is key to avoiding high energy bills for consumers and health providers during a time of economic hardships; how buyers clubs can generate and maintain jobs and promote access to the best available technologies; and evaluate how varying approaches to end-of-lifecycle HFC management impact global development and sustainability.
