The purpose of this meeting is to provide updates on the progress of the activity “Driving Ambitious Climate Action While Addressing Air Pollution, Health Impacts and Other Local Priorities in the ASEAN Region” of the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change, which was lead by the Philippines, supported by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Action Programme to Address the 1.5 Degree Challenge.

Through an informal discussion, this meeting will gather initial feedback and respond to questions from ASEAN member states and others. Some of the sub-activities and expected outputs under this project are:

  • Examination of governance options and collaborative arrangements on how the air, health and climate nexus can be integrated and adopted and identify opportunities for collaboration that will be recommended to the ASEAN member states (AMS).
  • Scientific and socio-economic analysis and modelling of policy/regulatory/investment actions
  • Inclusion of SLCPs in the ASEAN State of Climate Report
  • Assessment of the needs/gaps/opportunities assessment for HFCs, efficiency cooling and life-cycle management in selected ASEAN countries
