The Agenda for the March 17, 2021: Road to the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and Beyond: Turkmenistan’s National Efforts and Future Outlook for Tackling Climate Change

The purpose of the event is to highlight the international expertise and initiatives, existing areas of technical support and new green/climate finance opportunities available to Turkmenistan.

Looking toward to Glasgow, this roundtable will also aim to inspire further climate action ahead of COP26 and to highlight the global significance of COP26 to the key climate change stakeholders in Turkmenistan.

Furthermore, the roundtable will bring attention to Turkmenistan’s ongoing national efforts to tackle climate change and fulfil its obligations under a number of ratified global climate agreements, including the Paris Agreement.  It will also generate new ideas and areas for cooperation, helping international partners understand better what work the country is doing and the plans ahead.

Finally, this event will elevate the conversation on the best ways to deliver stronger sectoral action to accelerate Turkmenistan’s transition to clean growth and highlight the economic benefits that clean energy transition and decarbonisation can bring.
