Latin America Workshop on Green Freight Programs

Argentina’s Ministry of Transportation with the support of Argentina’s Ministry of Energy and Mining, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is proud to organize the three-day event on Green Freight Programs in Buenos Aires. This first day of workshop will bring together government, industry and civil society to explore opportunities for green freight program development in Latin America, and foster alignment and collaboration among national programs in the region. Days two and three of the workshop will be dedicated to training policy makers on program design and implementation, technology verification, and driver training, sharing lessons learned and best practices from the SmartWay and Smart Driver programs in the US and Canada.

Green Freight Programs are increasingly used by governments worldwide to drive freight industry efficiency and reduce emissions. Programs like SmartWay help industry to implement advanced technologies and practices, which enhance logistics energy efficiency, and reduce costs emissions while enhancing energy security and fostering economic growth. As freight and logistics is essential to sustainable development Latin American, our ambition is to expand Green Freight programs in our region, ensuring alignment and collaboration among different country representatives.

This is an invitation-only event and the number of delegates from government, industry and civil society representatives will be limited.
