About

Gold Standard, initiated in 2003 by a group of NGOs including WWF, is a certification standard for carbon offset projects. The Gold Standard ensures that energy efficiency and renewable energy projects actually reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and provide benefits to local populations. Such benefits include positive impacts on the wellbeing of the community hosting the project.

Gold Standard is an actor in the Coalition's Bricks, Household Energy and Finance initiatives.
