This webinar was organised by the UN Environment Latin America and the Caribbean Office Thursday 3 May. The focus of the webinar was on low cost air monitoring devices, their possible applications, their strengths and their benefits.

The agenda was the following:

  • Amanda Kaufman, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): general overview of the landscape of air sensor projects, performance of low cost devices, applications for sensor data, communication of real-time information to the public, and resources available on EPA's Air Sensor Toolbox.
  • Richard Peltier, World Meteorological Organization (WMO): presentation of a recent WMO report on Low-Cost Air monitoring devices.
  • Sean Khan, UN Environment: presentation of UN Environment work on air quality monitoring
