Argentina became a Coalition partner in 2018. The country has endorsed the Framework for the Coalition and committed to support meaningful action to reduce short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) by participating in the Coalition's initiatives on Reducing Black Carbon from Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicles and Engines and Supporting National Planning for action on SLCPs (SNAP).
Argentina is represented by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, which is responsible for the certification of vehicle emissions, including lab testing of new models and production control. The Ministry currently monitors air quality through its federal network, RED FEMA, and records air, water and soil data for the country.
