As part of the NDC Partnership Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), is supporting the development of a Tier 2 greenhouse gas inventory in the livestock sector for Eswatini. This work will provide recommendations on possible steps towards a low-carbon livestock sector that can be taken by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant stakeholders, in the preparation of their next NDC revision.

At a workshop held on 21 and 22 April, FAO presented the results of the inventory and provided support on raising ambitions for climate action in the livestock sector, building GHG inventories, and establishing evidence-based targets for greenhouse gas mitigation in livestock systems.
