Pakistan, an emerging economy in South Asia, suffers from extremely poor air quality with total concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) frequently exceeding the World Health Organization...
To date, this project has:
- Developed a concept note to support inclusion of SLCPs in Pakistan’s Clean Air Plan
- Trained national and sub-national entities on the use of LEAP-IBC tool
- Developed a national LEAP-IBC analysis, including the modeling of historical and future projections of emissions, impacts and benefits while jointly assessing greenhouse gases, SLCPs and other air pollutant emissions next to building mitigation scenarios, and understanding how emissions reductions benefit climate, health and crops
This work is being carried out by Clean Air Asia, the Stockholm Environment Institute, and Global Change Impact Studies Centre (GCISC).
