The next High-Level Assembly of the CCAC will take place on 22 September in New York City. Coming on the eve of the United Nations Climate Summit, where heads of state from around the world will gather to assess the progress of humanity’s efforts to deal with climate change, this Assembly will showcase the commitment of the CCAC and its partners at the highest level.
Specifically, the Assembly will provide an opportunity for CCAC ministers, CEOs and other leaders to be informed regarding Coalition progress, to explore and encourage engagement in CCAC projects and other deliverables to be launched at the SG Climate Summit, to provide strategic direction to the Coalition´s ambition and work over the coming years, and to be updated on policy-relevant and scientific developments on short-lived climate pollutants.
The Assembly will be followed by a High-Level Reception with business leaders hosted by the UN Global Compact, a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with principles of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. The reception will provide an opportunity to strengthen the CCAC relationship with the private sector.
The High-Level Assembly will follow a meeting of the Working Group of partners’ held earlier in the day, as well as a media briefing for interested journalists to learn more about the Coalition and its work. Press conferences and other media briefings about the Coalition will also be held on the 23rd at UN headquarters.
