Abstract - The author reflects on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2010 Project and discusses the comparative risk assessment and air pollution in India. Topics discussed were household air pollution (HAP), ambient air pollution (AAP) in the form of particulate matter and public health programs in India. Other topics included were air quality management and estimation of the burden of disease from ischemic heart disease, acute lower respiratory infection and lung cancer for both AAP and HAP.
