Cities Climate Finance Training

19 - 20 July, 2016
Tangiers, Morocco

The CCAC is a partner in a training program jointly organised by Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV), Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE) and Climate-KIC for regions and cities in Morocco and Tunisia. The City Climate Finance Training aims to build the capacity of local authorities to develop resilient urban projects and mobilise the resources needed to implement them, in particular through peer-to-peer learning and exchange of experience, linking them up with companies and financial institutions.

The programme has 4 key objectives:

  • Raise awareness on climate change
  • Explain the challenges of climate finance
  • Explore  existing financing tools and strategies
  • Show how to become investor friendly

In 2016 and in preparation for COP22 the programme will focus on 3 main activities:

  1.  An awareness raising day on the impacts of climate change (19-20 July in Tangiers, Morocco)
  2. Two-day capacity building workshop (in September, location tbd)
  3. An exchange forum during COP22 in Marrakesh
