Currently, China is the world’s largest electric car market, followed by Europe and the United States. Besides China, several countries and cities in Asia Pacific have announced ambitious plans and targets which will mainstream electric vehicle within their transport systems. To push this shift to electric mobility, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Energy Agency are launching a new global programme to promote electrification of mobility in 17 developing countries with the support of the Global Environment Facility.
Measuring the benefits and costs of electric mobility is often the first step to making policy decisions in switching to electric mobility. The second edition of the Clean Air Webinar Series will demonstrate how to use UNEP's “eMob Calculator”, a free and easy to use excel-based tool to estimate the potential of electric vehicles to save energy, reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions as well as calculate the costs associated with implementing electric mobility. The webinar will also include a demonstration using data from Indonesia. Download the “eMob Calculator” at https://bit.ly/2O5NL5s
