About

Chad joined the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to scale up its domestic efforts to reduce short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and follow the scientific progress that has brought these pollutants – especially black carbon - into the climate change narrative.

Represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Fishery, Chad is looking to increase its SLCP mitigation activities in the municipal solid waste, transport, agriculture, household energy, industry and oil and gas sectors.

In 2020, with the support of the Coalition, Chad finalized its first integrated national emission inventory on SLCPs, greenhouse gases, and air pollutants, which has enhanced capacity for national planning for SLCP mitigation.
