The 2024 WPB totalled $25.02 million maintaining the commitment from the CCAC Board to maintain high levels of project funding from 2022 until at least 2026. 90% of the 2024 WPB budget was allocated to funding for implementation activities and 97% of this was committed. Country SupportCCAC Country Support in 2024 totalled $9.41 million. 100% of what was budgeted for 2024 for national planning and sector mitigation support was spent and includes:$2.51 million for planning support, including for countries to add SLCPs into existing national plans or commitments, and national consultants who support national SLCP planning and implementation efforts. This is a decrease of $3 million from 2023 which reflects that the majority of ODA-eligible CCAC countries are already engaged in the CCAC national planning process at various stages;$6.6 million for sector mitigation projects and support for policies and regulations. This reflects a push for on-the-ground projects with increased funding to move more countries to implementation and further scale-up; $300,000 for Targeted Expert Assistance, under the request limit of $50,000.Sectoral TransformationA total of $6.605 million was allocated in 2024 for sectoral transformation and the work of the hubs to advance transformational change. This funding includes:$6 million for transformative action funding. This increase reflects the level of interest in this funding window, and in 2024 proposal numbers dramatically increased. This was the most competitive funding window in CCAC history – with 610 proposals requesting over $390m in funding demonstrating a surge in demand for SLCP action;$605,000 for Hub-led activities, including sector workshops, studies, and the pilot phase of the CCAC Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (CCAC-TEAP) which delivered a full report on Digital Extension Services presented at COP29.ScienceA total of $800,000 was spent on science-related activities in 2024. This went towards:The developing of a Global Assessment of the Economic Cost of SLCPs and an Integrated Assessment on AgriFood Systems;Science Policy dialogues and support to the CCAC Scientific Advisory Panel.CCAC Clean Air FlagshipThe CCAC Clean Air Flagship was launched in 2024. A total of $1.545 million was budgeted for the implementation of the flagship. The major milestone of the year was delivery of the Air Quality Management Exchange Platform (AQMx) which is designed to be a one-stop-shop to provide the latest air quality management guidance, designed especially for low- and middle-income countries.Methane Flagship Implementation$590,000 was allocated to supporting the CCAC Methane Flagship (2022-2024). The CCAC supported the Global Methane Pledge Ministerial at COP29 in Baku and supported the COP29 presidency in the Reducing Organic Waste Declaration. As 2024 was the last year of the flagship, funding was allocated toward GMP secretariat functions and a re-run of the Methane Roadmap Action Programme (M-RAP).
