Enabling cooperative and transparent action

The Clean Air and Climate Coalition (CCAC) is a voluntary international framework for concrete and substantial action to accelerate efforts to reduce short-lived climate pollutants. Our work is led by our state partners.

Our governance model distributes governing and advisory responsibility among several entities, reflecting the diversity of our partners and ensuring that we take informed actions and decisions.

Partner ministers and invited leaders are convened annually, aiming to increase ambition with forward-looking commitments.

The principal platform for partners and stakeholders to share information on climate and clean air.

Two Co-Chairs, elected by decision of the partners for staggered terms of two years, preside over meetings.

Representatives from state and non-state partners provide regular oversight of CCAC activities and assist in securing funding.

Eminent scientists representing all regions and many scientific disciplines relevant to the mitigation of short-lived climate pollutants.

Hosted by UNEP, supports the Coalition by administering the Trust Fund, organizing meetings, and reporting on progress.
