International Clean Air Day Since 2020, each 7th of September has been recognised as International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies (Clean Air Day). This event recognises the importance of reducing air pollution – the single greatest environmental health risk globally, and one of the main avoidable causes of death and disease globally. More information Global Methane Pledge The Global Methane Pledge (GMP) is a voluntary framework supporting nations to take action to collectively reduce methane emissions by 30% from 2020 levels by 2030. This could eliminate over 0.2˚C of warming by 2050. More information BreatheLife BreatheLife is a joint campaign of the Clean Air and Climate Coalition World Health Organisation, United Nations Environment Programme, and World Bank to mobilise cities and individuals to protect our health and our planet from the effects of air pollution. More information Lowering Organic Waste Methane (LOW-Methane)Coordinated by the CCAC Secretariat, the Lowering Organic Waste Methane (LOW-Methane) initiative is a coalition of organisations working and collaborating on data, policies, technical assistance and finance solutions to subnational governments and and their national government counterparts to accelerate the delivery of the Global Methane Pledge and the Paris Agreement by cutting 1 million tonnes of annual methane emissions from the solid waste sector well before 2030. This will require unlocking up to $10 billion in public and private investment across as many as 40 jurisdictions. More information AQMxThe Air Quality Management Exchange Platform (AQMx), a component of the CCAC Clean Air Flagship, is designed to be a ‘one stop shop’ for technical tools and models, data, and knowledge to build capacity among air quality managers worldwide. It aims to serve as a trusted resource, providing guidance and resources to support governments, implementers and stakeholders on the path to meeting interim targets identified in the WHO Air Quality Guidelines.
