Action Room 2, COP26 venue
Side event of The CCAC at COP26

By invitation only

This meeting will bring together CCAC partner Ministers and Leaders to step up ambition and action to address climate and clean air issues – with a special focus on methane.

At the meeting, CCAC Ministers and Leaders will formally adopt the CCAC 2030 Strategy, setting out our mission to put the world on a pathway that rapidly reduces warming in the near-term to keep 1.5°C of warming within reach and at the same time maximizes development, health, environmental and food security benefits. Those in a position to do so will make pledges to the CCAC Trust Fund.

The CCAC will achieve this by catalysing fast action to reduce short-lived climate pollutants – methane, black carbon and HFCs – contributing to global efforts to decarbonize the economy, limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, reduce air pollution, and achieve the related Sustainable Development Goals.

Methane reductions are an essential and cost-effective strategy to limit near term warming, and will be a key focus of the meeting. The CCAC will come together to share views and concrete actions to increase ambition including the launch of a CCAC Methane Flagship Programme.
