The AQMx webinar series will highlight the key activities, recommendations, and supporting resources included in the AQMx Sectoral Guidance launched at UNEA-7, covering four priority policy interventions to achieve clean air:

  • Agriculture: Promoting alternatives to crop residue burning

  • Household energy: Deploying e-cooking solutions

  • Road transport: Improving fuel quality

  • Waste management: Eradicating open waste burning

The AQMx Agriculture Sectoral Guidance focuses on:

  • Regionally tailored approaches that pair enforcement with incentives
  • Access to no-burn residue management technologies
  • Creating markets for agricultural residues to boost farmer incomes
  • Ensuring a just transition for smallholders, women farmers, and Indigenous communities

It will also showcase success stories in each of these areas, and highlight how the AQMx Sectoral Guidance can support their replication and upscaling. Time allowed for Q&A will allow for further discussion, and suggestions for future AQMx Sectoral Guidance covering other sectors or policies.
