The Challenge: Combating Global Warming with Waste Sector Actions

The German Environment Agency will host an experience exchange session on waste with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Waste Hub from 29 to 30 September 2021. This hybrid event will take place in Berlin at the B-Part am Gleisdreieck. An international audience is invited to participate online. Participation is free of charge, only registration is requested. 

During the morning of 29 September, the conference will focus on Jordan, a CCAC country partner, and its experiences and needs in waste management/circular economy to contribute to achieving goals under the CCAC and Paris Agreement. That afternoon, from 14:00-19:00 CEST /10:00 -15:00 EDT (UTC-4), a Latin and Central America Forum will address policymakers and public and private sector actors in the region.

On Thursday, 30 September from 09:30-13:30 CEST / 10:30-14:30 EAT + EEST (UTC+3), a Sub-Sahara Africa Forum will involve policymakers and actors from the public and private sectors in the region. In the afternoon, the conference will discuss how can we raise NDC ambitions with waste sector activities at the local level and which proposals, approaches, and support for your country, organization, or city would be most beneficial.
