Enhancing NDCs with Non-CO2 Strategies: Benefits and Opportunities for Support

Integrating non-CO2 pollutants (such as methane and black carbon) into NDCs provides an opportunity to demonstrate increased mitigation ambition and achieve public health and development benefits. It aligns with the goals of the Paris Agreement and the commitment on non-CO2 pollutants set out in the COP28 outcome text. 

This event will offer participants an opportunity to discover the resources and tools available to support NDC enhancement teams in their work to include non-CO2 pollutants in upcoming NDCs. Experts from the three hosting organizations will present a variety of options, including available technical and financial support, for non-CO2 NDC enhancement efforts. Several countries will share their experience including non-CO2 pollutants in their NDCs.
