Methane in Focus: Strengthening Energy Methane Policies and Civil Society Action in Asia and Beyond

This event will explore the importance of methane mitigation in Asia’s energy sector, spotlighting national policies and civil society initiatives. 

Through discussions with experts from countries including Mexico, China, and Korea, the session aims to share strategies and best practices, empowering Asian civil society organizations (CSOs) to strengthen regional action on methane reduction.

This event is designed to:

• Highlight the growing significance of methane as a short-lived climate pollutant (SLCP) in the energy sector of target countries
• Provide an overview of the current methane mitigation policies/initiatives in select countries and highlight the role of CSO’s and their activities
• Promote cross-regional sharing of best practices and tactics to strengthen the role of
  Asian CSOs in energy methane mitigation
