At the same time, external requirements are reshaping the regulatory landscape, including the EU Methane Regulation and emerging buyer-led transparency initiatives. The Methane Regulator-to-Regulator (MR2R) Regional Exchange for Southeast Asia will bring regulators together in a closed-door, peer-to-peer setting to discuss how these domestic and external drivers are converging and what they mean for methane governance in the region.Drawing on the model of the global MR2R Network, launched by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), the session will be adapted to Southeast Asia’s regulatory context, resource mix across oil, gas and coal, and market orientation. The exchange will take place on the sidelines of the 51st ASEAN Council on Petroleum and Energy (ASCOPE) Meeting.
