The NDC 3.0 Navigator aims at helping countries enhance their NDCs and strengthen their implementability, including through a key focus on high-impact, feasible solutions for methane reduction in agriculture. The proposed side event will center on the NDC 3.0 Navigator, a pivotal tool designed to assist Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in effectively targeting methane emissions reductions. This innovative platform provides comprehensive guidance and strategies on mitigation and adaptation opportunities, including a focus on mitigating methane emissions, with a pronounced focus on the rice and livestock sectors. Methane, a potent greenhouse gas, significantly contributes to global warming, and the agricultural sector, particularly rice paddies and livestock farming, is a major source. By utilising the NDC 3.0 Navigator, countries can develop and implement robust, targeted measures to curb these emissions, thereby enhancing their overall climate action plans. This event is being organised in collaboration with esteemed partners, including the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, the NDC Partnership and the World Bank. These organizations bring a wealth of expertise and resources, ensuring a comprehensive and impactful discussion. Participants will gain insights into the latest methodologies and best practices for methane reduction, with expert panels and case studies highlighting successful implementations. This side event represents a significant step towards achieving global climate goals by addressing one of the most challenging and impactful areas of greenhouse gas emissions.
