HFC banks remain a serious issue, despite ongoing phasedown efforts under the Kigali Amendment. As the potential impact on climate change is substantial, addressing HFC banks is crucial in achieving the 1.5 ºC goal under the Paris Agreement. Lifecycle management of fluorocarbons will address such emissions by avoiding leakage of, recovering, recycling, and destroying these harmful gases. This side event will showcase good practices such as relevant policies, schemes and application of appropriate technologies and management techniques, and discuss how to better disseminate this useful information for wider application to fill a significant gap where actions should be replicated. You are cordially invited to participate in this side event and discussion!
