The impacts of exposure and vulnerability differ across genders, shaped and compounded by existing inequalities. Women often experience different levels of risk due to gaps in labour protections, health coverage, land ownership, access to higher-paying jobs, training opportunities, transportation, and financial resources. Efforts to reduce super pollutants must be designed with equity in mind – not only for justice but for the effectiveness and resilience of climate solutions. Recognizing these challenges, the CCAC in partnership with Oxfam will launch the first existing Guidance for policymakers and civil society towards gender-transformative action on super pollutants at New York Climate Week – building a shared foundation for more equitable solutions, outlining existing gaps in our understanding, and paving the path forward. This effort builds on the CCAC’s Gender Strategy launched at COP27. This session will launch a new report on gender transformative action on super pollutants developed in partnership with Oxfam – and put a spotlight on the opportunities to accelerate innovative solutions in the household energy sector. It will include opening remarks, a keynote address, panel discussion, and Q&A, followed by a reception. Organizers Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Oxfam Add to Calendar Google Yahoo!
