A panel of climate leaders representing high-profile donors, civil society, and government in LAC will convene to discuss and strategize ways to significantly escalate funding efforts for clean air actions in the Latin American and the Caribbean Region. The aim is to align the scale of funding with the vast opportunities in the region to reduce emissions that simultaneously warm the planet and harm human health while helping societies thrive, improving welfare and achieving environmental justice.

Based on a common vision on what a vital future in Latin America and the Caribbean would look like, with clean air and a stabilized climate, panellists will engage in a dialogue about ways to scale and maximize the impact of current funding. Furthermore, they will explore how to unlock new investments for high-impact solutions in all sectors to improve air quality while simultaneously achieving climate and health benefits, in addition to other sustainable development goals.

Speakers will highlight specific funding sources available, innovative funding mechanisms, and financing strategies to advance transformation in key sectors at a regional scale, such as the development of an international framework for addressing wildfires caused by agricultural burning, the harmonization of vehicle emission standards and the deployment of sustainable transportation systems. These serve as examples of regionwide projects which have integrated climate and health benefits and which stand ready to be funded.
