Webinar - Experiences with anaerobic digesters in India

It is a pleasure to invite you to the first joint webinar of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) and the PREVENT Waste Alliance Organic Waste Working Group.

We will combine our networks to give an overview and discuss experiences with anaerobic digesters in India.

New initiatives in India are focused on promoting biogas development with a substantial growth of small, medium, and large scale biodigesters in the solid waste sector.

The webinar will cover policy, implementation, and research perspectives, including an overview of the landscape in India by Dr. Nimmi Damodaran (consultant with more than 25 years of international experience); a presentation by Mr. Nagendran, CEO, Srinivas Waste Management Services) on a biogas plant diverting restaurant and market waste in Chennai with a sustainable business model; and a discussion by Dr. Dirk Weichgrebe (Head of Solid Waste Management Division, University of Hanover) providing insights from 10 years of research, including GIS location survey, analysis and technology options.
