Thank you to everyone who joined our recent CCAC NGO Partner Strategic Dialogue. We appreciated the thoughtful questions, ideas, and perspectives shared throughout the discussion.

The session focused on three main areas: the CCAC Super Pollutant Prioritization Strategy, the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator, and preparations for our in-person NGO Strategic Dialogue during the CCAC Annual Meeting in Bangkok, October 2026.

Key discussion points

Super Pollutant Prioritization Strategy

Martina Otto, Head of CCAC Secretariat provided an update on the draft Super Pollutant Prioritization Strategy, which is intended to provide a political acceleration framework through 2030.

The strategy identifies priority actions and potential positive “tipping points” across key sectors, while recognizing that it is not intended to replace or limit the broader work of CCAC partners. Rather, it is designed to help focus collective attention on areas where coordinated action can have the greatest impact.

Discussion highlighted the importance of strengthening the links between climate, clean air, health, and economic benefits; creating stronger regulatory and market signals; improving access to finance; and connecting national action with subnational implementation.

NGO partners raised questions and suggestions related to waste and open burning, transport, institutional capacity, N₂O, private-sector engagement, finance, and stronger integration of national and local action.

As a next step on the Super Pollutant Prioritisation Strategy, we invite NGO and other non-state partners to complete the Offer of Support template, highlighting where your organisation can support governments across the Strategy’s sector-specific and cross-cutting priorities.

Please return the completed template to secretariat [at] ccacoalition.org by 1 October, so a first set of offers can be shared with governments at the CCAC Annual Meeting in Bangkok and added to your partner page profile on CCAC website.

Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator

The meeting also included an update on the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator.

The Accelerator is designed to connect government ambition and institutional capacity with technical assistance and financing. Participating countries can establish embedded Super Pollutant Units or teams within government structures, adapted to each country’s needs, alongside technical assistance projects spanning multiple sectors.

Seven countries are currently in the initial group, with implementation and recruitment progressing at different stages.

NGO partners were encouraged to follow upcoming opportunities to provide technical assistance and to consider how their existing national and subnational work can connect with Accelerator activities.

Discussion also emphasized the importance of coordination across ministries, stronger connections between national and local governments, and using the Accelerator to help unlock larger sources of public and private finance.

CCAC Annual Meeting and NGO Strategic Dialogue – Bangkok, October 2026

The CCAC Annual Meeting will take place in Bangkok from 13–15 October 2026, following the CCAC Board meeting on 11–12 October.

A dedicated in-person NGO Partner Strategic Dialogue will take place on Tuesday, 13 October.

Alongside NGO partners, the session is expected to include Martina Otto,Board co-chairs, and both NGO Board representatives — Tad Ferris (IGSD) and Jonathan Banks (Clean Air Task Force). Government and funding partners will be invited to attend.

The session will focus on three questions:

• How can we better align, collaborate and share across the NGO community?
• How can NGO partners support implementation of the Super Pollutant Prioritization Strategy?
• What roles can NGOs play in the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator?

Participants will work in facilitated small groups to develop practical ideas and recommendations. Outputs will be compiled and shared with the wider NGO partner community following the meeting.

For partners unable to attend in Bangkok, we also intend to organize a virtual opportunity to contribute to these discussions. This will repeat the same format virtually, on a date to be confirmed, and will be publicized in the same way as this meeting. Further information and registration details will be shared once available.

New York Climate Week (September 20–27, 2026): Members of the CCAC team will be in New York for Climate Week, as will Tad Ferris. Partners attending are welcome to get in touch to arrange to meet.

Facilitators will receive a facilitator guide in advance and will help guide the conversation and capture key ideas from participants.
