Job Opening: CCAC National Expert on Biodigesters for Manure Management (for Mexico)

by Climate and Clean Air Coalition Secretariat - 28 July, 2025

The CCAC National Expert on Biodigesters for Manure Management will be responsible for collecting records on the use, distribution, and operating status of biodigesters for livestock manure management in Mexico at large LPUs and LSPs. This information will serve as a baseline for developing methane reduction strategies and defining a realistic increase in methane ambition for Mexico’s NDC update (NDC 3.0).

The National Expert will be responsible for:

  • Data collection tool validated by national authorities, for the inventory of biodigesters to bovine manure management in larger LPUs and LSPs.
  • Pilot test report to adjust data collection tool, detailing the methodology used.
  • Biodigesters Inventory: database of biodigesters used for bovine manure management in large LPUs and LSPs. The database should include, but is not limited to:   Coordinates of location (lat/long)  - Type of technology  - Date of installation and time of use  - Biodigester efficiency  - Operational status  - Feedstock  - Maintenance frequency  - Costs (installation, operation, maintenance)
  • The database must include a “Data Dictionary” that explains the meanings of the database variables.
  • General findings report: spatial distribution patterns, gaps, and opportunities for scaling up the biodigesters for livestock manure management, including recommendations for integrating livestock manure management biodigesters as methane mitigation strategies into national and sub-national policies, and NDC 3.0.
  • Proposal for the maintenance and updating of the national inventory of biodigesters for livestock manure management.
