Project Update: Agroecology and Circular Economy for Ecosystem Services (ACE4ES)

by Climate and Clean Air Coalition Secretariat (CCAC) - 22 April, 2025

Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (YILAA) organized a transformative training session for young people, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills in sustainable agriculture and natural resource management through agroecological and circular economy technologies, aimed at reducing short-lived climate pollutants in rice and maize production.

This training took place in Parakou, northern Benin, on March 27, 2025, as part of the Agroecology and Circular Economy for Ecosystem Services (ACE4ES) project, funded by the Climate & Clean Air Coalition.
The training combined theoretical inputs with practical demonstrations, inspiring participants to become committed actors in the fight against climate change and the preservation of ecosystems.

It included interactive sessions led by experts in agroecology, climate-smart agriculture, and integrated land and gender management. Participants gained hands-on experience in composting, liquid fertilizer production, and preparation of organic pesticides. Special emphasis was also placed on gender and land tenure to effectively promote sustainable practices.
