Message from the Secretariat

Climate and Clean Air Coalition partners are preparing for the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit on 23 September in New York, where we will respond to the call for increased ambition and fast action. On the eve of the Summit, our Ministers and leaders will meet at the Coalition's High Level Assembly to launch the Coalition's 2030 Vision for the Climate and Clean Air and commit to scaling up our impact.

The aim of the High Level Assembly is to galvanize action on air pollution and health, cooling efficiency, and agriculture and food systems in support of the Summit’s action areas, and beyond. During the Assembly, we will launch the Global Methane Alliance that builds on the Coalition’s Oil and Gas Methane Partnership and government commitments to regulate the industry’s methane emissions. We will also share progress on green freight and mobility and launch the report “Synergizing Actions on Environment and Climate: Best Practices in China and around the Globe” with China, Tsinghua University and UNEP.

France, who currently holds the G7 presidency, and other lead partners of the Coalition’s Efficient Cooling initiative, initiated the Biarritz Pledge for Fast Action on Efficient Cooling at the recent G7 Summit. This exciting pledge will contribute to cooling commitments made at the UN Climate Action Summit.

Together we will raise ambition!
