Subsecretaría de Ambiente de Argentina Breadcrumb Home Our Partners Subsecretaría de Ambiente de Argentina The Sub Secretariat of the Environment of the Nation is a state agency under the Office of the Vice Chief of Cabinet of the Interior, belonging to the Office of the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers. Its functions of formulation, implementation, and execution of the environmental policy, according to the provisions of Article 41 of the National Constitution, works in actions for the prevention of pollution, making use of mechanisms of national territorial action such as the Federal Council of the Environment (COFEMA) as support to the federal management and coordination of environmental policies.Within the framework of guiding programs such as GIRSU and Circular Economy, Climate Impact Management, and Monitoring and Control, in line with the Global Methane Agenda, the National Program for the Valorization of Organics (PROVO) is implemented under Resolution No. 27/2023, which is developed within the framework of Law 25. 675/2002 of Minimum Budgets for the achievement of a sustainable and adequate management of the environment, the preservation and protection of biological diversity and the implementation of sustainable development (especially its article 4º, on the precautionary principle) and the Law of Minimum Budgets for the Management of Household Waste N° 25.916/2004, and establishes as objectives to promote the valorization of organic waste through the implementation of adequate methods and processes, and to minimize those destined to final disposal.
