Wuppertal Institut CCAC Partner since 2018 Breadcrumb Home Our Partners Wuppertal Institut About The Wuppertal Institut for Climate, Environment and Energy (Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie) is a non-profit limited company under the responsibility of the Ministry for Innovation, Science, and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has been working as an independent research institution since 1991, and employs more than 200 scientists today. The Wuppertal Institute develops models, strategies and instruments to facilitate transitions to sustainable development at the local, national and international level. Role within the Coalition The Wuppertal Institute's areas of research complement the work of the Coalition's Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles and Engines Initiative (HDDI) and Supporting National Action and Planning (SNAP) Initiative. The institute has fully endorsed the Coalition Framework and plans to contribute to the Coalition's objective through its work to reduce air pollution in the urban mobility sector, and by increasing the capacity of local and state governments to support the creation of enabling frameworks and increase access to financing for solutions.
