Air Health Index (AHI)

The Air Health Index (AHI) is a comprehensive early warning indicator that integrates the health risks of air pollution and ambient temperature. It aims to provide the public with a more comprehensive forecast of the overall health risks brought about by unsuitable atmospheric environmental factors.

Based on the localized relationship between atmospheric environment and health exposure response in China, the Atmospheric Environment Team of the School of Public Health at Fudan University developed a national Air Health Index (AHI) integrating temperature, PM2.5 , NO2 , and O3 . By establishing an atmospheric health risk early warning platform, the AHI of over 300 cities nationwide is released in real time, aiming to provide the public with more comprehensive and accurate air health risk information.
