Canada's 2016 Black Carbon Inventory

This report presents the results of Canada's second annual inventory of black carbon emissions. In 2014, approximately 43 kilotonnes (kt) of black carbon were emitted in Canada, slightly less than the revised 2013 emissions of 45 kt. Mobile sources are by far the most important sources of black carbon in Canada, accounting for 61.9% of total emissions in 2014.
