CCAC Finance Workshop: Helping Cities to Create Bankable Projects for Municipal Solid Waste Management

This is a report of a workshop held from 10-11 of September 2015 to help cities supported by the CCAC identify financing opportunities to improve solid waste management and reduce SLCP emissions.

Recognizing the urgent need for financing in the solid waste sector, the CCAC's Municipal Solid Waste Initiative and Finance Initiative joined forces to organize a workshop on municipal solid waste finance. The workshop was implemented with the leadership of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and hosted by Veolia in Paris on the 10-11th of September 2015.

Five cities participated from developing countries, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Cebu City, Philippines; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Amman, Jordan, and Battambang, Cambodia, and helped to frame discussions and expert advice by posing questions and presenting their own case studies. Additionally, Kenya was represented on the National level.
