These emissions were then fed into a dispersion model to estimate the contribution of different sources in PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations of Lucknow city. In total, 13 sectors have been inventoried based on fuel consumed in these sectors or the extent of activity being carried out. These sectors are industries, transport, road dust re suspension, agriculture residue burning, residential; refuse burning, brick kilns, diesel generator sets, aviation, construction, crematoria, landfills, and hotels and restaurants. The data for some sectors have been collected by conducting a primary survey, while UPPCB provided some sectorial data. While these emissions are from traditional sources, some are subject to considerable uncertainties, and the usual care must be taken in their interpretation.
