The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to the Parties to the Convention in identifying control options and best available techniques for reducing emissions of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) from major stationary sources with a view to implementing the obligations of the Protocol on POPs. The document describes control techniques for reducing emissions of dioxins and furans (PCDD/F) as well as of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from major stationary sources. The techniques described may also be used for reducing other POPs.
