Guidance document on national nitrogen budgets

At its thirty-first session (Geneva, 11–13 December 2012), the Executive Body to the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution adopted a guidance document on national nitrogen budgets which corresponds to the the guidance document referred to in article 7, paragraph 3 (d), of the 1999 Gothenburg Protocol to Abate Acidification, Eutrophication and Ground-level Ozone, as amended (ECE/EB.AIR/113/Add.1, decision 2012/10). The present document contains the guidance document as adopted. It is designed to assist in the calculation of nitrogen budgets, nitrogen use efficiency and nitrogen surpluses and their improvements within the geographical area of the Cooperative Programme for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long-range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe.
