The Integrated Guide for Business Greenhouse Gas and Air Pollutant Emission Assessment (2025), or Guide 2.0, is an expanded and updated version of the 2022 Practical Guide for Business Air Pollutant Emission Assessment. Designed to be sector-agnostic and applicable to businesses of all sizes, the Guide 2.0 enables companies to quantify greenhouse gases (GHGs), short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), classical air pollutants, and heavy metals across their value chains. It provides methods and emission factors for developing integrated emissions inventories, supporting mitigation planning that addresses both climate and air quality goals simultaneously. The Guide incorporates updates such as the inclusion of CO₂, CH₄, and heavy metals, practical examples, and revised chapters, reflecting user feedback, evolving corporate reporting needs, and regulatory changes like the EU’s CSRD. It can be used independently or to expand existing GHG inventory systems, requiring no prior knowledge of the original guide.
