Key Technical Considerations for Deploying Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Buses in Developing Cities

This publication analyzes the success and failure factors of natural gas implementation programs in transportation systems, ranging from countries that have experienced sustained growth in the application of natural gas in light vehicles, such as Argentina and Brazil, to countries where programs have collapsed, such as New Zealand, to countries with recent natural gas vehicle programs, such as China and India. An analysis of policy and regulatory considerations for some countries of particular interest is also provided.
